PCOS & BreastFeeding
Everyone may think that getting pregnant and breast feeding are a easy thing. But sadly its not when you have PCOS. Because you either have breastmilk or don't. I got really lucky to find the man i want to grow old with. I'm so blessed and lucky everyday for Nate and my family. Ever since i found out i had PCOS i thought I would only have one child not 2-4 like i wanted. Okay I wanted four children, but i don't think that's in my wishes of going to happen. It took me five years after having Matthew-Patrick to get pregnant again. Yes i was happy with just having Matthew-Patrick and Nate but i wanted more children. With both of my pregnancies I was high risk until the day I delivered. I had to watch what I eat and watch my blood pressure due to when I get sick it gets high. That's one thing also that PCOS messes with.
I know you are thinking what does PCOS stand for? what is PCOS? well here is your answer, PCOS stands for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Polycystic ovary syndrome (say "pah-lee-SIS-tik OH-vuh-ree SIN-drohm") is a problem in which a woman's hormones are out of balance. It can cause problems with your periods and make it difficult to get pregnant. PCOS also may cause unwanted changes in the way you look. If it isn't treated, over time it can lead to serious health problems, such as diabetes and heart disease.
Most women with PCOS grow many small cysts on their ovaries. That is why it is called polycystic ovary syndrome. The cysts are not harmful but lead to hormone imbalances.
PCOS sadly causes many people to either make a lot of milk or none at all. What sucks is when I had my son I didn't supply any what so ever. But for me after having my daughter I am making some just not enough to feed a baby all day. Yes it sucks but what more can I do beside pumping every other hour and be empty. So if you have tips on how to boost my breast supply feel free to comment.
