Walking update and foot update

Sorry I haven't posted anything lately it's been a crazy few weeks well almost months. My daughter is doing all right has her days where it hurts her to walk but she's getting there slowly her feet are looking good but I am still scared that she is going to relapse . And that's something that I'm going to have to overcome because of all the hard times she and I have been through. She is in physical therapy 5 days a week and it's a lot to take on between her and our son with his therapies and then me working. I fingered I would attach a video of her walking. We are slowing getting better it's just a hard journey. i was going to post a video of what her feet look like now but the video is to big but its okay.

photography

So i haven't posted for a while on my blog because well there is much to add and nothing has changed. But I want to talk a second about my photography. I do admit i let it slide for a while and didn't stay on top of my passion and advertise like I should. I mainly just took pictures of every today things like sunsets, wildlife and well my children. But i am going to brag about my photography for a few. So i have had my photographers chosen eleven times now to be displayed in photo galleries all over the world. Thats eleven different items of mine in a gallery, I am proud of myself. Then on top of that ive had my work also in five magazines. I would post the images here to this blog but I have them on my fb page https://www.facebook.com/S.MorricePhotography  I have come a long way with my photography and I'm proud of myself to have my work displayed in galleries and in magazines.

she's not letting casts stop her

Image
This is three days late, my bad it's been a crazy few days. But anyway, My Princess is@ not letting bilateral clubfoot or casts get in her way. Tuesday she got to ride two horses and she loved riding. She's already asked me a while back to get her a horse and let her Ride. Seeing her laugh and smile and just want to be around an animal makes me so happy. She's doing so good. Hopefully Wednesday casts will come off and we start physical therapy. Baby girl mommy loves you so much!! Downside is daddy and big brother didn't want to ride o well their loss. Enjoy the pictures and videos.

crazy few days

Sorry I haven't posted a blog lately its been a crazy few days and there isn't much to update y'all. My daughter is still in casts just waiting for her ADM braces and AFOs to get to us. I had a job interview today and I sadly didn't get the job. I am doing PCA/CNA classes to try and land a job somewhere. The day before yesterday I was smelling a burning smell and then last night our a.c. went out and we didn't find out until this morning and boy did it get hot in our house. We ended up at a hotel for the night and hopefully tomorrow someone will be out to fix the a.c. Landlord said someone would be out Saturday or Sunday. I really hope its Saturday because I don't know if the foundation can pay for the hotel again.  My hubby's truck broke down on him which sucks because its the same part that he has fixed three times already. Our son is fixing to get revaluated for speech and I hope he can get it during the summer since he gets it in school. I and baby are ...

This is for the ones......

This is for the ones who are hateful towards people who are rude to parents who have a child or children with a disability. I have never been ashamed of how I got treated for the last few days all because I am/was asking for help on getting the funding I needed to get my daughter and I to West Palm Beach FL on June 8 so that she and I can see her orthopedic surgeon on June 9. For the ones who think I am a scammer, You are wrong my blog is proof that I am not. For the ones who think these trips are easy and don't cost a lot of $ you are wrong. I am still learning on what organizations are in FL that can help us get things paid. I'm trying to help my hubby the best I can without having a job. Yes I know now he doesn't have one now but he did get one last payment. I pray and hope things will get better for us because we deserve to not be struggling like we are but we are doing what is best for our children. Our daughter deserves to have corrected feet. Thank you to the ones wh...

Boots and Bar and bad advice

Clubfoot has a lot of ups and downs. There is even people out here who have a child with clubfoot and like to give bad advice which in the long run can harm a child. If you ever have a person tell you to keep the braces on even when your child's foot is having marks show from the straps PLEASE don't listen to them. If you have a parent tell you to just tighten the straps of the boots and bar Please don't listen. If you have a parent tell you that they are a RN or CNA and they know what they are talking about PLEASE keep in mind they are not your doctors nurse and they don't know the do's and don'ts'. If your child is having problems with the boots and bar worthier its the shoes or bar Please go to your doc. Yes there is fb groups for support but please note that some people like to give bad advice and think that something is the cure to fix. Please know that if your child's feet are not correct the boots and bar won't help in keeping your child'...

copycat big no no! stop copying my daughter's story!

So I recently learned that I have I think one or two people copycating my journey with my daughter on Facebook to try to get money the only thing is these people are kind of changing the story and instead of putting it about a daughter they put in about a spouse, a parent, or a baby they're fixing to have. So now I am starting to do pictures with my post because it takes a lot of money to do these trips to Florida plus paying our every today bills like gas(for the car), car payment, rent, water bill, gas bill, and electricity bill. They need to add our co-pays for the doctor trips. My daughter deserves the best care after having five orthopedic surgeons fail her so if you see someone copying my story or some of my story please let me know I don't appreciate it. It takes a lot for me to ask for help because we've been doing it on our own but now it's just getting too stressful an too much financially. And I learned last night from a fellow disability parent that it's...

Baby steps but ONE proud mommy

Image
So this hasn't been an easy journey which I am okay with because my daughter deserves to have the best possible care ever. She is in below the knee casts and her orthopedic surgeon said if she wants to walk and is able to to allow her. So far she has not started to walk with these cast she has walking boots that she wears with the cast she has taken a few baby steps but her poor legs and feet get tired. She receives speech therapy on top of physical therapy and they're at the same clinic so her PT came over and gave her hugs because everybody misses her at physical therapy and they looked at what they could of her legs and saw that she has no muscle tone or strength and that's why she is not walking. So I messaged her orthopedic surgeon to make sure that if she was not walking if that was okay and he said yes give it time and when she comes for her cast take off then go home just start PT so that's what I'm going to do I'm just going to enjoy what few days left ...

doctor appointment update

So like I said on April 26th my daughter had a 3-hour surgery she had to stay in Long casts from April 26th to May 26th she had a doctor's appointment obviously May 26th and Dr. Dobbs removed her long plaster cast on both of her legs underneath her foot she had a button stitched on to her and this was to help pull her tendons to the right spot and she cried bloody murder she did not want him touching her feet or knees she is so sore and sensitive right now. She right now has Casts on both of her feet below her knees until June 9th we leave Fort Smith Arkansas June 8th for her doctor's appointment that's the 9th of June and these cast are coming off for good. Dr. Dobbs is wanting us to try to get her to walk in the short cast and she is having a really hard time walking she basically has to relearn how to walk and boy it's a hard. She has to relearn how to carry her weight. But I know we will get there on having her walk soon it's going to be a long slow process and ...

let's talk jobs...

So I'm as real as possible on my blog. But I don't like showing the ugly only the Good. But today I want to talk about the ugly just because I'm so stressed out on everything financially and I'm just worn out from bills. So I recently had a job until March 1st before my daughter started her casting she was having trouble with her feet and legs hurting her and I would still send her to preschool and hopefully you should have a good day and I can work one day while I'm at work I got a call from her school asking me to come get her because she's just in a lot of pain and she's walking on the side of and so I call her PCP get her a doctor's appointment and end up having to do massage therapy on top of the chiropractor plus her PT for a week hoping that will help so I had to take a week off of from work. Once all of this is over and things were good she was able to go to school and stay all day I called my job two days after being gone for a week ask them to ...

casts and itching

So here is another update on my daughter she is doing all right she gets s bored a little bit is tired of sitting wishes she could walk but these casts are plaster cast and then ACE wrap on top of them. She has been having trouble with waking up in the middle of the night due to itching inside of the cast and I'm pretty sure it's because she's sweating in these casts I can't wait for these to come off May 26th. I am going to change the Ace wrap today plus the duct tape because the casts are broken pretty bad and I made change how I do the duct tape so that she doesn't sweat so bad inside of them and hopefully that helps some. We leave  Fort Smith Arkansas well actually Bentonville Arkansas because there was no available flights to leave Fort Smith so we're going through Bentonville and landing in West Palm Beach Florida on May 25. On her doctor's appointment May 26th she gets to have new cast put on and they go below her knee and then we go back home May 27t...

Surgery & Life

So i posted my daughter had surgery April 26 and that was a hard core surgery on me and her. The surgery took three hours long. The recovery and the first few days were hard on my daughter she couldn't take the pain and was on a lot of pain meds and slept a lot. We returned home from FL May 1st and she got to go back to school until school ended May 12. She missed her classmates/friends and her teachers. I've been applying to jobs like crazy to finally have a job. Its getting hard financially, I've been trying to get my photography out there more so I can help my hubby with bills. Today I am 18 weeks and two days pregnant baby and i are doing good. I had a doc app May 5, and i got to see baby on ultrasound due to my obgyn not being able to hear the heartbeat by fetal doppler. Baby is still really low on me and heartbeat was 134-143. Yes I am only pregnant with one baby the doc had to do a recording of the heartbeat and he got two different readings. My son is doing good en...

A lot

A lot has happened since I lost wrote a blog. In Nov of 2020 we went to West Palm beach Florida for a consult with Dr. Dobbs. He wasn't happy with the treatment I was getting. We went back home to Fort Smith Arkansas and I searched for health insurance for her because sadly Medicaid wont cover Dr. Dobbs and we couldn't afford the out of pocket cost. So Hubby got her on his health insurance with his job. My hubby Nate decided to get out of the Army after 8 years he didnt like being apart from us and missing out on our children's life anymore. Plus he wanted to be around for doctor's appointments and therapies. MatthewPatrick is doing good still in speech, occupational, and physical therapy. He's doing good in school, gets out of school May 28,2021. Anastasia is doing good, in preschool. Right now we are in Florida while she gets her treatment from Dr. Dobbs. I can't believe it took five doctors to get us to where we are now. And now she is seeing the number one ...
